Enrollment Office by emailing enroll@ousd.org, texting (510) 879-4600, or visiting us in-person at our office at 746 Grand Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Joining SJT: Six Steps
1. Contact the Student Welcome Center — enroll@ousd.org or text (510) 879-4600. Say you
want to enroll at Sojourner Truth Virtual Academy specifically.
2. Visit ChooseOUSD.org and create (or log into) your EnrollWise account, using an email you
check regularly — it becomes the primary way SJT communicates with your family.
3. Complete your profile with parent/guardian and student information.
4. Start an application and search “Sojourner Truth” to apply.
5. Submit the application and wait for a staff member to follow up.

Orientation
Every new Sojourner Truth family completes orientation before their first day of class — a walkthrough of the bell
schedule, technology setup, and what to expect in the first weeks, with a version for each grade band.

Enrollment at Sojourner Truth follows the same OUSD placement process as any district school. Families transferring in or out of Sojourner Truth mid-year should also review OUSD's transfer process.
Returning after leaving for attendance reasons: students complete Sojourner Truth’s re-enrollment process and meet certain requirements before re-enrolling the following school year. Details available from the
office.
