How the Literacy Lab works:

• Individualized Learning: Students with individualized lesson plans through i-Ready will work on their MyPath assignments during this time.
• Skill Development: Students who scored closer to grade level will participate in NewsELA lessons to further develop their reading comprehension and critical thinking skills.
• Targeted Support: Our literacy coaches will reach out to students and their families who scored two or more grades below their grade level on the i-Ready diagnostic. These students will be highly encouraged to attend the Literacy Lab. 
• Incentive: Academic credit will be made available for regular attendance and participation.

The Role of Literacy Coaches:

Our literacy coaches will oversee the Literacy Lab, ensuring all students have access to the resources and support needed to succeed. Coaches will monitor student progress closely and provide additional instruction or reteaching as necessary.

Research has shown that dedicated literacy instruction can significantly improve student outcomes. We are confident that this weekly Literacy Lab will positively impact our students' literacy skills.
